1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to REL4Y ("Service", "Platform", "we", "our", or "us"). By accessing or using our campus event and club management platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and REL4Y. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Eligibility

To use REL4Y, you must:

• Be a current student at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD)
• Have a valid UCSD email address (@ucsd.edu)
• Be at least 13 years of age
• Have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

You must sign in using your UCSD Google account to access the Service. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep this information up to date.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 Permitted Uses

You may use the Service to:

• Create and manage student clubs and organizations
• Discover and attend campus events
• Create and promote events
• Connect with other UCSD students
• Share information about campus activities

4.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Harass, bully, or threaten other users
• Post content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, or hateful
• Violate any applicable laws or university policies
• Spam or send unsolicited messages to other users
• Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Scrape, harvest, or collect user data without permission
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without authorization
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you post to the Service, including profile information, event descriptions, club information, photos, and other materials ("User Content").

5.2 License to REL4Y

By posting User Content, you grant REL4Y a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display your User Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service.

5.3 Content Standards

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to post your User Content
• Your User Content does not violate any third-party rights
• Your User Content complies with these Terms and applicable laws

5.4 Content Moderation

We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to remove or modify any User Content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable for any reason.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by REL4Y and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without our express written permission.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

8.1 Service "As Is"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of event information, club details, or other User Content. Users are responsible for verifying event details and information independently.

8.3 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REL4Y SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless REL4Y and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party services including:

• Google OAuth for authentication
• Supabase for database and backend services
• Cloudflare R2 for image storage

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party service providers.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting a notice on the Service or by sending an email. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
